How to Create Custom Post Grid Template in Elementor Smart Post Listing widget

Elementor Smart Post Listing widget by Premium Addons plugin is a versatile Elementor widget that empowers you to create custom post grid layouts in your WordPress site. This widget was recently released in Premium Addons Pro (v2.9.2) plugin and it allows you to build sophisticated posts grid layouts for your WordPress posts or any custom post types.

In this tutorial, we will show how to build a custom posts grid using Premium Smart Post Listing widget and Elementor Loop feature.


Requirements:

  • You will need Premium Addons PRO plugin installed and activated on your website.
  • Make sure to enable Smart Post Listing widget from your WordPress dashboard by navigating to Premium Addons -> Widgets & Addons tab.
  • Premium Addons works only with Elementor Page Builder plugin so you will need to have it installed and activated as well.
  • Also, you need to activate the Elementor Loop feature in your WordPress dashboard.
Activate Elementor Loop Feature
Enable Elementor Loop Feature from Dashboard -> Elementor -> Settings tab.

Create grid template for Smart Post Listing widget

Create/Edit template for Smart Post Listing widget
  1. Drag the Smart Post Listing widget and drop it into to desired Elementor section.
  2. Select Custom Grid from Grid drop-down menu under Layout in content tab in widget settings.
  3. Click on Create/Edit Template button.
  4. Template Editor Popup will pop up in the same browser tab to allow you to build your Premium Grid.
  5. Feel free to insert any kind of Elementor content in Elementor Template Editor popup.
    • Also, you can insert one of the Premade Templates included in Premium Addons using Premium Templates button. For more information, about Premium Elementor Templates, please check this article.
  6. Click the Update button in Elementor Panel.
  7. You can name the Elementor template from the text input field at the top of Elementor Template Editor popup.
  8. Click on Save & Insert Template button to close the popup.

Existing templates for Smart Post Listing Custom Grid
  1. Drag the Smart Post Listing widget and drop it into to desired Elementor section.
  2. Select Custom Grid from Grid drop-down menu under Layout in the content tab in widget settings.
  3. Select the template from Select Existing Template drop-down menu.
