AI Abilities is a Premium Addons for Elementor feature that connects AI clients such as Claude, Cursor, and Codex to your WordPress site through a built-in MCP server. Each ability is one action the connected AI can perform on your site. This doc covers one of the Cross Domain Copy & Paste abilities: Export Elements for Copy.
Export Elements for Copy packages elements from an Elementor page, post, or template and returns a short-lived signed transfer URL. You pass that URL to another site to import the copy there. The packaged content never travels through the AI client; it stays on the source site until the destination fetches it directly.
This is the first half of moving Elementor content between two sites. Export here, then hand the transfer URL to Import Copied Elements on the destination, or to Check Copy Compatibility first.

Before You Start
This ability is part of the AI Abilities feature. If you have not set it up yet, follow the Elementor AI Abilities (MCP Tools) Tutorial first to enable the feature and connect your AI client. The ability must also be switched on under Premium Addons → MCP Config & AI Abilities, in the Cross Domain Copy & Paste category:
Use Cases
Copy a section to another site. Ask the AI to export the pricing section from one site and it returns a transfer URL you can import on another, images and bundled templates included.
Move a whole page. Leave the element list empty and the entire page is packaged, ready to rebuild on the destination.
Reorder as you copy. List the element IDs in the order you want them to land, and the destination places them that way.
Good to Know
- The exported content is never returned in the response. You get a signed, single-use transfer URL, and the content stays on the source site until the destination fetches it.
- The transfer URL expires.
expires_atis the Unix timestamp it stops working, so import it within that window. - Leave
element_idsempty to export the whole page. When you do list IDs, each one is exported with everything nested inside it, and they land in the order you give. - Every ID must exist; one bad ID fails the whole export. Passing a parent and one of its own children duplicates that child on import.
- The
summarylets you sanity-check the selection (element count, widget types, bundled templates) without downloading the payload. - The connected WordPress user must be able to edit the page being exported.
