How to Create Custom Post Grid Template in Elementor Smart Post Listing widget

Elementor Smart Post Listing widget by Premium Addons is a versatile tool that enables you to design custom post grid layouts on your WordPress site. Introduced in Premium Addons Pro v2.9.2, this widget allows you to create customizable post grids for your WordPress posts or any custom post types. ​

In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through building a custom posts grid using Premium Smart Post Listing widget and Elementor’s Loop feature.


Requirements:

  • You will need Premium Addons PRO plugin installed and activated on your website.
  • Make sure to enable Smart Post Listing widget from your WordPress dashboard by navigating to Premium Addons -> Widgets & Addons tab.
  • Premium Addons works only with Elementor Page Builder plugin so you will need to have it installed and activated as well.
  • Also, you need to activate the Elementor Loop feature in your WordPress dashboard.

Creating a Grid Template for Elementor Smart Post Listing Widget

Create/Edit template for Smart Post Listing widget

To design a custom post grid layout:

  1. Open Elementor Editor.​
  2. Drag and drop Elementor Smart Post Listing widget into your desired section.​
  3. In the widget’s settings panel, navigate to the Content tab.​
  4. Under the Layout section, select Custom Grid from the Grid dropdown menu.​
  5. Click on the Create/Edit Template button.​
  6. A Template Editor Popup will appear, allowing you to build your custom grid layout.​
  7. Within the Elementor Template Editor Popup, you can:​
    • Insert any Elementor content.​
    • Use Premium Addons Pre-made Templates by clicking Premium Templates button. For more information, refer to this article.​
  8. After designing, click Update in Elementor panel to save changes.​
  9. Name your template using the text input field at the top of Elementor Template Editor Popup.​
  10. Click Save & Insert Template to finalize your design and close the popup.
