AI Abilities is a Premium Addons for Elementor feature that connects AI clients such as Claude, Cursor, and Codex to your WordPress site through a built-in MCP server. Each ability is one action the connected AI can perform on your site. This doc covers one of the Dashboard abilities: Scan Premium Addons Widget Usage.
Scan Premium Addons Widget Usage lets your AI client find out which Premium Addons widgets your site actually uses, and how many times each one appears across all your pages, posts, and templates.
Real usage numbers are the foundation of every performance cleanup. Instead of guessing which of the toggles matter, the AI gets a count per widget and can reason about what is safe to switch off.

Before You Start
This ability is part of the AI Abilities feature. If you have not set it up yet, follow the Elementor AI Abilities (MCP Tools) Tutorial first to enable the feature and connect your AI client. The ability must also be switched on under Premium Addons → AI Abilities & MCP Config, in the Dashboard category:
Use Cases
See what your site really runs on. Ask your AI client “Which Premium Addons widgets am I actually using?” and get the list with counts: 14 Premium Headings, 3 Carousels, 1 Countdown, and so on.
Ground a performance cleanup. Prompt “Which Premium Addons widgets am I actually using? Disable everything I’m not.” The AI scans first, then hands the unused list to premium-addons/disable-unused-widgets so only dead weight gets switched off.
Plan a redesign with facts. Before a site-wide restyle, ask “Where do I rely on Premium Addons the most?” Heavy counts show which widgets deserve the most attention in the new design.
Good to Know
- The scan walks the site’s Elementor content, so on a large site the call can take a moment. It changes no content and no settings.
- An empty result means either no Premium Addons widgets are in use or Elementor’s usage module is unavailable on the site.
- Counts are site-wide totals per widget, not per page. For a per-page view of one document,
premium-addons/get-page-structureis the better tool. - Dashboard abilities require an administrator: the connected WordPress user must be able to manage options.
